Cleaning your faucets Mineral deposits build up around your faucet, causing it to clog or spray the entire room. To get rid of the deposits pour warm vinegar into a plastic sandwich bag, and wrap it around the faucet, submerging the areas with mineral deposits in vinegar. Secure the bag with a rubber band, and soak for at least an hour. Use an old toothbrush to remove the loose deposits
Use this same procedure for cleaning a shower head A toothpick works to clean out the spray holes Using tape-wrapped pliers to protect the finish, unscrew the aerator from the spout.
Cleaning faucet aerators Take apart the aerator, note the exact order of parts. Replace the washer if it is worn or cracked.
Soak the screen and aerator disks in vinegar for an hour or more. Scrub with a toothbrush.
Turn on the faucet flushing sediment from spout.
Put aerator parts together, thread aerator back onto the spout. Tighten it one-quarter turn with pliers.
Unclogging Sink, Tub and Shower Drains The drain in your sinks and tubs leads to a system of pipes and traps that can become clogged. Try removing the clog through the drain first, you’ll be surprised at how much hair is in there.
If the sink is still clogged unscrew the trap under the sink. Rinse the trap and screw back on.
